PROJECT WHW
48 → 96 miles
Our Story

Two friends.
One Highland obsession.

Max Meikle and Seb Craig didn't grow up on the hills — they grew into them. Project WHW is the story of two ordinary young hikers committing to something extraordinary.

Max Meikle

The Planner

Map obsessive, gear nerd, and the person who first traced the route in highlighter. Max handles logistics — campsites, water sources, contingency plans, and the spreadsheet that says how many calories live in a flapjack.

Seb Craig

The Engine

Built for distance and stubborn enough to enjoy a wet bivvy. Seb Craig leads pacing and navigation in the field, and he's the reason we still go out when the forecast says sideways rain.

Why The Way

The West Highland Way is Britain at its most honest.

Big enough to matter

96 miles, real elevation, real exposure.

Accessible to learn on

Waymarked but unforgiving — the perfect first thru-hike.

A trail we love

Heritage, wildlife and landscapes worth fighting for.
